Happiness is a Choice

There was a time when we took life very seriously. It was difficult to enjoy living because we were always so worried about the bills, the kids, the job, the weather, or ourselves. The angels helped us overcome our concerns when they taught us about what happens when we chose to be unhappy.

The Angels Speake
Dear Ones, We love you and help you to overcome difficulties and tribulations. But you, yourself, must cultivate the acts of helping yourself enjoy your life, even when you don’t feel like it.

Happiness is an attitude. It is an expectation of goodness. It is a sense of place and space and has a “feel” to it that is light and exhilarating. Unhappiness is burdensome, dark, fearful, and condensed. It is possible to replace these joyless feelings and redirect your thinking. Cheerfulness is a choice most of the time. How so?

First of all, ASK us to help you put aside your dark thoughts or worries and replace them with light ones. Many of you may ask us for help with scores of problems, but few of you ask us to help you change your attitude from this thing to that thing. Start doing it. You will see how quickly we can help you.

Here is what happens when you decide to be gloomy and miserable. First of all, you begin to look for negative in all things. You, upon awakening, begin to look for what can go wrong or has already gone wrong. This attitude sets the stage for your entire day. As you begin to think negatively, your entire body begins to shift. Your hormones and brain waves change. You breathe differently and your posture changes. Your whole body “condenses” into a self-protective demeanor and you begin to think as you look. Body changes equal mental changes.

If, for the first thoughts of the day, you decide to see the sunshine, enjoy the rain, feel the air, expect joy, or PRAY, you will find the set of your day will begin to shift in small ways. The most noticeable of the physical changes that happen when you decide to feel good is that your breathing will become fuller and deeper. Your posture will straighten and your lungs will become pinker and fuller. The oxygen you take in will eventually fill your brain and clear your blood stream. Health will show from every pore of you. You will even smile.

When you are happy, you are healthy. Aches and pains will fade because you won’t notice them Happiness is a wonderful pain reliever. When you are happy, you also have more energy. Energy is conducive to action and action to accomplishment. When you accomplish, your self-esteem improves and that leads to more happiness. If there was ever a good addiction, happiness is it.

How can you choose happiness? Some people are so bad at it, they can’t possibly begin to imagine such a thing. They have not been taught and if you look into their family trees, you will find many unhappy people. But it is possible to be happy and it is very easy.

Here are three action steps to assure happiness for yourself today.
Piece of Cake. Angel Food, of course.

Faith Builder: Take a deep breath, put on a big smile, and hug someone. It works!
